It works quite well and the assembly is high-quality for what you pay. Of course, with any green screen, good lighting is key to a good result.

Valera Creator 95
Right off the bat, I give you the Valera Creator 95. This green screen is collapsible, making it easy to store when not in use. I love this feature.
My first green screen was a big piece of fabric. It was impossible to put away and has wrinkles all over it.
If you decide to go with the DIY route getting some fabric at first, as I did, you’ll quickly learn that your chroma settings will be impossible to configure within your stream software. You’ll most likely always get a poor result.
The Valera Creator 95 is very similar to Elgato’s green screen, which I’ll detail later, but is much more affordable.
You can set it up in less than a minute and get to streaming. I think it could be a little wider, but for most streamers, this should be a non-issue.

Best Green Screen For Budget Streamers
For those on a budget, the Webaround Portable Webcam Background might be perfect for you. If you’re new to streaming and want to try chroma key with a face cam, look no further.
I’ll be honest, I’m not huge on the idea of strapping a green screen to my chair, but it does seem like an effective solution.
There is a small shadow cast around the spot where the chair meets the screen. Most streaming software applications can adjust to this, but you have to have good lighting.
The Webaround doesn’t fit on all chairs, so you may have to hope it fits.
Elgato Green Screen
Elgato is a leader in the live streaming market. There’s no question that the majority of streamers on Twitch use their green screen.
Similar in nature to the more budget-friendly Valera, Elgato’s green screen rolls out easily for quick and convenient setup.
It measures 58.27 x 70.87 in (1480 x 1800 mm). Most streamers shouldn’t have a problem with the size of the screen.
As with most retractable green screens, it does not extend out onto the floor. If you’re looking to use it for more than just your face cam, you may need to look at other options.
Muslin Backdrop by Fancierstudio
I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to include a muslin green screen option for this list. These types of screens are definitely more affordable but aren’t worth it, in my opinion.
The Muslin Backdrop by Fancierstudio is the first green screen I picked up when I first wanted to experiment with chroma key. We used it in a few YouTube videos and saw decent results.
The problems? First off — storage is impossible. It comes on a long rod and to store it, you roll the fabric up. It almost never goes the way you like and ends up completely wrinkled.
Next is the issue of setting it up. It takes far longer to set up a muslin screen than other options I’ve listed.
Raising the stand by yourself is a major challenge. Even harder is tightening the screen to the stands to eliminate all the wrinkles.
Unless you have a need to do other green screen content where the floor is necessary, I’d avoid this product altogether.
Why Use a Green Screen On Twitch?
If you’re new to streaming, chances are that you don’t have a dedicated space for streaming or recording YouTube content. You may be set up in your bedroom.
Using a green screen for Twitch or YouTube content removes the appearance of a cluttered room and gives your video a more polished look.
You, as a creator, will have more privacy than someone who only uses a webcam.
Green screens allow more of the game to be seen through your camera’s overlay. Instead of a solid box overlay, you can see the game outside the borders of your person.
For everyone who likes a keyed background though, there’s someone who doesn’t like the look.
Things To Consider
If this is your first time using a green screen for streaming, there are a couple of things you need to know. For one, you’ll need more than the green screen alone.
Lighting Is Key
When using keying color from a scene, the better your lighting, the better your result. If you cast any shadows on your screen, you’ll see inconsistencies.
Common problems include transparency, loss of color to the subject, noise, and other video artifacts.
Learning the basics of lighting a green screen is crucial before you invest in one. There’s a lot to it — it can be frustrating for new streamers.
I suggest using two Elgato Key Lights in combination with your green screen. Sure, there are cheaper options out there, but Elgato lights mount right to your desk, leaving less clutter on the floor.
You also control them right on your PC’s taskbar. This is super convenient and is much easier than having to go behind your desk to turn them on and off.

A Green Screen May Be Unnecessary
If you’re getting a green screen solely to start streaming, you’re making a big mistake. Gear is one thing, consistently streaming is another.
If you want to get into streaming, just start. You don’t need fancy equipment to get going. Some of the biggest YouTube creators and Twitch streamers got their start with a basic webcam and their favorite games.
More Complication
Until you’re comfortable with a green screen setup, things will be much more complicated. You’ll have to set up your screen and make sure it looks good before beginning your live stream.
You can get away with not using one. Plenty of Twitch streamers don’t use them. But if you want the clean look of chroma key, go for it!
